Vision and mission statements/statements of aims are often combined. Some ‘Vision’ statements may actually be mission statements, that is, statements of how rather than of what the school seeks to achieve or to be.

Editor’s Note In some of the examples below the ‘vision’ part of a school’s Vision Statement is clearer than others. We have highlighted what appears to us to be the part that is ‘vision’.

S__ R___ H____ School Vision
The School Vision is a simple statement of the type of school we wish to see. In some aspects it is a reflection of what we have already achieved, in others it is a statement of how we would like to develop the School. Overall it is the common aim for everything we do from preparing lessons, to working with the children, to recruiting new staff, to improving the facilities

S__ R___ H____ School is:

a place of excellence where children can achieve full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development

a caring place where children and adults feel they make a contribution and are valued as individuals

a place of Christian values where children learn respect for themselves and others

a partnership between children, parents, staff and governors and the community as a whole.

Q_____ School Vision
We are working together to provide a stimulating learning environment in which the team of highly-trained staff provide quality teaching in well-resourced buildings to address the special needs of our pupils in partnership with parents, Governors, the LEA and the community.

Diverse extracurricular activities will promote self-study skills and enriching leisure pursuits. A range of accredited courses will boost learning opportunities and raise achievements in a caring ethos which nurtures positive relationships and fosters the growth of responsible behaviour. Our INCLUSION PROJECT will forge strong links with mainstream schools so that pupils are successfully re-integrated on a full or part-time basis, according to their individual needs.

We shall be acknowledged as an excellent school enhanced with a superb 6th Form and Vocational Education programme. In conjunction with the Careers Service, we shall offer a spectrum of preparatory experiences in Colleges of Further Education and the workplace to enskill our students. To this end, “LAUNCH” – a purpose-built workshop offering a range of pre-NVQ Courses, will be located adjacent to the 6th Form to successfully launch our students into the world of work.
